Mirror allows for creators to choose among four blockchain networks—Optimism (default), Base, Linea, Zora, and Polygon. This feature empowers creators to select the network that aligns with their goals in the ecosystem that they are most active in.
One year ago when we launched Writing NFTs, we were one of the first dapps to use Optimism for Writing NFTs. While L2s rely on Ethereum for security, we designed Writing NFTs to be completely gas-free for creators to publish. Collectors only pay a nominal platform and gas to mint. Since then, collectors have paid creators over $1 million to collect more than 1.4 million entries.
Different networks offer varying levels of transaction throughput and cost-effectiveness. Blockchain networks experience fluctuations in congestion and performance depending on demand. Changing networks allows you to be adaptable and reach the ecosystem you are trying to attract.
Changing your blockchain network on Mirror is a straightforward process:
1. Log into Your Mirror Account. After logging-in, click the Mirror logo and then “Settings”
2. In Settings, select the NFTs tab. Here you will be able to choose the default network you want your Writing NFTs to be published on.
3. Select the drop down menu. Here you can choose between Optimism, Base, Zora, Polygon, and Linea as the default network for publishing your Writing NFTs.
4. Verify the Change. After you click “Save,” verify that you will be publishing the Writing NFT on your desired network by clicking “Publish” and checking the network under the WNFT customization field.
You now are ready to publish on a new L2 network! Let us know what you think of the feature and collecting on Mirror in this survey.
